Postpartum Doula for Louisville

Support when your support network goes back to work.

A postpartum doula goes to work when your support network goes back to work.

The transition into new parenthood  (or parenthood with multiple children) can be a vulnerable time. Postpartum doulas are experts in emotional support, active listening and encouraging new moms and dads to step into this new phase of their lives.

Postpartum doulas are trained to understand what new babies – and new mothers – truly need. The doula helps with soothing techniques, offers breastfeeding or bottle feeding support, and explains normal newborn behavior.

Meet Abbie

Abbie Gibitz was inspired to become a doula through the beautiful home birth of her son Parker in 2012. The birth was full of joy and free from fear, and it was then that Abbie began to dream of empowering other women to fearlessly enter motherhood with a joyful birth experience.

Since then, Abbie received her certification as a childbirth educator and has attended a training to become a DONA postpartum doula. She is currently pursuing certification!

She received her Bachelors in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Masters degree in Pastoral Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. Abbie and Gabe welcomed their second child, Mackenzie Joy, in October 2013.

HIRING A POSTPARTUM DOULA WAS THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE.

As my husband went back to his normal work routine, I was feeling overwhelmed. But then, I met Abbie Gibitz.

Yesterday was her first day and HOLY MOLY was it amazing! She connected with the kids immediately, walked in and jumped right in without asking questions. She did the dishes, laundry, helped with baby in every way possible.

Y'all, if you take any advice from me, please hire yourself a post partum doula. She can work with mom several weeks after birth!
